Churches in Lithuania are not only places of pilgrimage, but also living monuments of architecture that most accurately and deeply reflect the history of the region and people. Many small cities of Lithuania are decorated with domes of churches and temples. Almost every chapel is a true work of art. All this represents a spiritual heritage belonging to people of all faiths. Romantic poets Adam Mickiewicz and Juliusz Slowacki forever united the memory of Polish, Lithuanian, Belarussian and other peoples with Vilnius, and the heart of Polish marshal Jozef Pilsudski was buried in Vilnius at the Rossi cemetery. We invite you to visit the main Catholic and Orthodox churches and other holy places in Lithuania.

DURATION

START
Every day.
It is impossible to visit all the holy places of Lithuania in just a few days, but we offer at least to touch the sacred heritage - you will visit the most beautiful churches of Vilnius: the Church of St. Anne (Ona), the Church of St. Apostles Peter and Paul, the Church of St. Michael (here now an art museum of the history of Religion), the Bernardine Church - one of the largest Gothic churches in Vilnius (church, courtyard, basement); You will visit the Antokolsky cemetery, the Ross cemetery, the Rokantishsky cemetery. We are sure that the Mountain of Crosses in Šiauliai will make an indelible impression on you, where starting from the nineteenth century people leave crosses with a request for help or with gratitude (on the way we will see several small, but no less beautiful churches). Today there are already more than 20,000 crosses - these are works of art by folk craftsmen and modest wooden crosses of ordinary people. There you will find the cross of Pope John Paul II, erected during a visit to Lithuania in 1993
You will also see
In Kaunas you can visit: Kaunas Cathedral, Catholic Seminary, Church of St. Peter and St. Paul, Church of St. Francis Xavier and the Jesuit Monastery, Church of St. St. George and the Bernardine Monastery, Church of the Holy Trinity, the Cathedral, the Pazaisliso monastery and the monks' cemetery. Pozhayslio Monastery is a masterpiece of architecture. The imagination affects not only the buildings in the late Baroque style, but also the rich interior decoration: frescoes and sculptures of famous masters. There are many historical treasures here - the painting of domes and baptistery, chapels, houses of silent monks and much more. We will also visit Kedainiai, where you will see the Radziwill mausoleum, the synagogue, the homeland of C. Milos (Polish-American poet of Lithuanian descent), and in the town of Dotnuva we will see the church and monastery complex.
